Periodic purging of valves is mandatory in water and wastewater treatment plants. This purging may demand high maintenance and care when done manually. This is where Lakos AP-75-MBV 3/4" AccuPurge automatic valve can help. This is one of the important types of automatic valve, which eliminates the need for routine maintenance, as well as performs purging of grit and sand.

This automatic valve allows a user to set the purge duration and purge frequency. Both these features can be easily set on the basis of the sand present in the water. Frequent purging is required for heavier sand deposits. The water loss during the purging will depend on factors such as water pressure, water flow, and purge duration. A purge duration of 20 seconds is enough to flush 5-10 gallons of sand and water.

Conversion from 110 V to 220 V Program
The AccuPurge valve is designed for 110 V operation. However, it can be converted to 220 V easily. The following steps will help you achieve this conversion easily:

  • Remove the cover of the actuator. Find the terminal strip, which is located near the area of the power cord. This cord is located at the entrance of the actuator box.
  • Next, you need to loosen the screws on the terminals 1-4. There are two copper bridges on the sides of the strip. One bridge is located at terminals 1 & 2, whereas the other strip is located at terminals 3 & 4.
  • Remove the bridges slowly. Insert the first bridge at terminals 2 & 3.
  • Tighten the screws on the terminals 1-4.
  • Replace the cover.

Note: Inserting the bridge at the terminals 2 & 3 will help loosen the power cord. This loosening will provide you the better access to the bridges. You can also use needle-nose pliers for the task.
